Our English language school is located on the campus of the University of York, close to the city center and opposite the famous Cathedral.
Most language courses take place in a modern building in the center of campus. All of our classrooms have excellent facilities with projectors, interactive whiteboards, computers, DVD players and CD players, wireless access for laptops, plus work areas and student lounges.
Our students have the right to use all University facilities, including sports facilities, library and classroom Internet (Internet access and computers in the library 24h).
Our location within the university and the integration of our English students from the University will allow you to take full advantage of your experiences in York.
The sports facilities at the University include a new sports hall and a gym on campus, a new facility that can be found a 15 minute walk from campus and has football, rugby and hockey pitches, with three outside tennis courts and three outside basketball courts.
There are more than 20 different sports teams that get together through the Student Union, with the opportunity of playing against other students at the university in local leagues.

York is a destination in England to visit throughout the year. It has around 30 museums and galleries and everything is relatively close to the center, where there are numerous pubs, bars and restaurants.

The nightlife is equally varied in York. You may find yourself on a boat in the moonlight, at a concert or in lively conversations with people in bars, and York has pubs that can be enjoyed all year round. The city is full of architectural gems, such as York Minster, Treasurer's House, Barley Hall, Merchant Adventurers' Hall, Clifford's Tower and Fairfax House to name a few.
The objective is to improve fluency and confidence when speaking the language, as well as improving listening. In the classes, you will work in pairs and small groups, carrying out a wide range of activities. You will have the opportunity to practice grammar and new vocabulary when speaking in real life situations.
In the morning class, you will be working with a textbook (included in the price). This includes: grammar, listening, vocabulary, speaking, pronunciation, reading and writing.
In the afternoons, the students will have the option between 2 different modules: development of integrated skills (all language skills) or preparation for the IELTS exam.

The teachers can adapt the content of the course to adapt to the necessities of the class, and also will have regular tutorials to discuss the progress of the student.
The school organises a varied plan of weekly activities. Excursions are organised every weekend to Whitby, Manchester and Liverpool, as well as cultural attractions like Fountains Abbey and Rievaulx Abbey.
Participating in activities is not mandatory, however it is a perfect opportunity to discover new cities or make new friends. The price of excursions is £ 8 - £ 20
At night the school organises parties, events, contests or dance nights.

York train station is on the main line on the East coast, which means that you can get to London in 2 hours, Manchester in 1 hour and Edinburgh in 2 and a half hours.
The residence is a 10 minute walk from campus and has 84 apartments. Each apartment has individual bedrooms, with shared bathrooms and kitchen. The residence has a large garden. There is a cleaning service of common areas while students are responsible for cleaning your room.
